Alexia Smith, NP

Alexia Smith is a psychiatric nurse practitioner offering behavioral health services to children and adults. She treats a full list of specialties; however, her specialties include child/adolescent psychiatry, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and trauma/PTSD.

Alexia received her Master of Science in Nursing in 2012 from the University of Cincinnati.

Alexia’s philosophy of care is to listen. She always tries to listen to what the patient is trying to tell her. Sometimes its needing to listen to the parent as well. She wants to understand what a patient is trying to tell her, even if the patient is unsure on how to express it. When using medication, she tries to imagine the best possible outcome with a medication(s). The decision is a team decision. She likes to give an idea of the different options that may or may not work, but ultimately, that choice is made together.

Alexia loves to paint, crochet, and do other fun crafts. Another fun fact is that she has a very large extended family, with 27 first cousins!

Her favorite quote is, “Everything happens for a reason, maybe it’s a lesson – but find your reason.”
