Christine Boehler is a licensed clinical social worker offering services to adult residents in New Jersey and New York. She has a variety of clinical interests; however, she specializes in life transitions, stress management, trauma, family counseling and career guidance. In her practice, Christine’s philosophy of care is centered around helping clients learn to be kind and patient with themselves – when we believe we are deserving of our own compassion and understanding, the rest of the world often follows. In her work with clients, they concentrate on the here and now and on the things in their lives they can control and reflect on the past when it impacts the present. She also helps clients focus on how their relationship with themselves impacts their relationships with others. Christine believes in creating a caring, authentic, non-judgmental space for clients to process and begin to work on determining who and how they want to be.

Christine became interested in mental and behavioral healthcare because human resilience astounds her. She believes that we are all capable of recovering from a plethora of situations. She has worked with folks that have experienced homelessness and immense traumas who, with support were able to create the lives they wanted to lead. Christine believes that knowing yourself is the first step in helping yourself. When folks understand themselves better, they can then begin to take control over their lives which can bring meaningful and positive change.

Christine has presented at mental health conferences on the topic of hoarding and worked to tailor a treatment curriculum to specific sub-populations with its creators. She enjoys interior design and has helped numerous friends and family members decorate their homes. She also loves live music and theater and tries to see performances any chance she gets.
