Darlene Jeris, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker offering services to adult residents in California. She has a vast array of clinical interests; however, her specializations are anxiety, mood disorders, life transitions, stress management and career coaching. In her practice, her philosophy of care is centralized around her firm beliethat every individual has the potential to grow and change. Her approach is to partner with each patient to identify the barriers to living a life that is consistent with theigoals and valuesShe strives to provide a safe, nonjudgmental and supportive space to explore these barriers, identify patterns that no longer work and help patients develop new possibilities. Darlene helps her patients recognize and build on their strengths and works with them to develop skills to manage stress and the inevitable “bumps in the road” that everyone encounters.

Darlene founded and managed a nonprofit in the Bronx, a secondchance charter school for women, to help them earn a high school equivalency diploma and continue to advance their education and training. She loves listening to audiobooks, especially classic fiction – Finished War and Peace and The Odyssey are among her favorite reads so far in 2020. Darlene also started running marathons several years ago and even ran one in Kenya.

“The adventure of life is to learn. The purpose of life is to grow. The nature of life is to change.” – William Arthur Ward
