Joshua Taffet, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker offering services to adult residents in New York, New Jersey and Florida. He has a vast array of clinical interests; however, his specializations are LGBT issues, gay men’s therapy, anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorders.  In his practice, he views the therapeutic relationship as a partnership and a journey; he’s in the passenger’s seat, holding the road map, and the patient is in the driver’s seat, with their foot either on the gas or on the brake. Together, they will get to where they want to go, in a safe and nurturing environment.

Joshua’s interest in mental and behavioral healthcare started at an early age, people would tell him that he was an excellent listener and helped bring clarity to their challenges. It wasn’t until he saw a therapist himself, who helped him navigate his life challenges, that he realized he wanted to become a licensed therapist. In his opinion, there is no greater gift than helping people live their most fulfilled life.

Joshua was a speaker on Patient Advocacy at the Urban Mental Health Conference in 2018. He’s traveled to Hawaii 5 times in the last 4 years and meditates for at least five minutes every morning.

“Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations.” – Zig Ziglar
