Michele Medwin, LMHC

Michele Medwin, LMHC

Michele Medwin is a licensed mental health counselor offering services to adolescent and adult residents in New York. She has a wide range of clinical interests; however, her specializations are marriage and relationship counseling, grief counseling, LGBT issues, gender identity and dysphoria, stress management and anger management. Michele’s philosophy of care is to provide a safe, non-judgmental, caring space for clients to share what is on their mind. She believes that at times the challenges of life catch up with us and that having a comfortable place to discuss various life stresses may be enough; however, for others, a more comprehensive mental health counseling program is helpful. Michele also practices holistic and integrative therapy by using various counseling tools and techniques to best help clients.

Michele’s interest in mental health care stems from having been a Congregational Rabbi for over 23 years. She realized that she wanted to expand her ability to help those in need in all walks of life. Michele believes that her purpose in life is to help ease the burdens of others.

Michele lived in Israel for a year with her husband and children studying to become a rabbi. Her hobbies are varied and include birding, hiking in nature, boating, quilting, spending time with family and her two cockapoos.
