Shelly Ladd is a licensed clinical social worker offering services to children, adolescents and adults in California. She has a variety of clinical interests; however, she specializes in child and adolescent therapy, substance abuse, dependence and addiction, trauma and abuse, anger management and parenting. In her practice, her philosophy of care is to meet clients where they are and help them identify the goals they would like to work on. Her clients choose the type of therapy and goals, while she helps them discover what those needs and goals are.
Shelly’s interest in mental and behavioral healthcare developed during childhood. Her grandmother became depressed and changed from an outgoing person to someone who became withdrawn and cold. Her grandmother then began to see a mental health professional, and while it took some time, she became much closer to the grandmother that Shelly remembered. That renewal of spirit was what led Shelly to begin thinking of mental health care as a career choice.
Shelly collects unique antique jewelry. She loves the Star Wars movies and reading about the history of the Old West.
