Anthony Deo is a board-certified psychiatrist offering services to child, adolescent and adult residents in New Jersey and New York. He has a vast array of clinical interests; however, his specializations are child and adolescent psychiatry, ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders and schizophrenia. In his practice, Dr. Deo believes that each person has a unique story that must be heard and considered. People are not defined by a diagnosis and he works collaboratively with individuals and their families to create a treatment plan that is consistent with their beliefs and values.

Dr. Deo’s interest in mental health care comes from a long-standing interest in research and clinical care of children, adolescents and young adults with severe psychiatric illness.

Dr. Deo studied field biology and at one point was tracking suburban coyotes. He also helped to sew the tentacles of a preserved squid together as a graduate student at the American Museum of Natural History. Additionally, Dr. Deo has traveled extensively and has spent lots of time in the wildernesses of Kenya, Australia and the Galapagos.
