Darlene founded and managed a nonprofit in the Bronx, a second–chance charter school for women, to help them earn a high school equivalency diploma and continue to advance their education and training. She loves listening to audiobooks, especially classic fiction – Finished War and Peace and The Odyssey are among her favorite reads so far in 2020. Darlene also started running marathons several years ago and even ran one in Kenya.

Dr. Monica Nichols is a California native and board-certified psychiatrist. Dr. Nichols provides psychiatric services to individuals residing in California and Washington who are aged five and up. Clinical interests and specialization includes child and adolescent psychiatry, cognitive behavioral therapy, mood disorders (depression and bipolar), anxiety disorders and psychotic disorders (schizophrenia and schizoaffective). Dr. Nichols prefers to take a holistic approach to treatment. She does not see medication as the complete answer to mental health issues, but as a piece of the puzzle. Dr. Nichols also seeks to address behavioral issues that are affecting her patients’ mental health.
