Dr. Leroy Arenivar is a board-certified psychiatrist offering services to children, adolescents and adults in California, Texas, and Washington. Dr. Arenivar has an array of clinical interests; however, his expertise includes child psychiatry, anxiety disorders and ADHD.

Dr. Arenivar became interested in mental and behavioral health care in medical school where he realized that his desire to hear people’s stories was best suited for psychiatry. He continues to be interested in the evolution of psychiatric care from the innovative delivery through telehealth to being able to offer new treatment modalities like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.

Dr. Arenivar has worked as an attending psychiatrist for the past eight years, primarily treating children and adults in the outpatient setting. His approach to care is to focus on building rapport with patients so that patients trust his recommendations and at the same time feel comfortable talking about their apprehension regarding psychiatric medications. He is focused on making sure patients understand how medicine can help improve their condition in combination with other approaches like psychotherapy and self-care.

In his non-clinical time, Dr. Arenivar enjoys watching movies, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors of Austin, TX!

“Do all the good you can, for all the people you can, in all the ways you can, as long as ever you can.”

Dr. Monica Nichols is a California native and board-certified psychiatrist. Dr. Nichols provides psychiatric services to individuals residing in California and Washington who are aged five and up. Clinical interests and specialization includes child and adolescent psychiatry, cognitive behavioral therapy, mood disorders (depression and bipolar), anxiety disorders and psychotic disorders (schizophrenia and schizoaffective). Dr. Nichols prefers to take a holistic approach to treatment. She does not see medication as the complete answer to mental health issues, but as a piece of the puzzle. Dr. Nichols also seeks to address behavioral issues that are affecting her patients’ mental health.

During her education and training, she found mental and behavioral health issues more interesting and fulfilling to treat, as they have such an impact on quality of life. She likes the challenge of seeing each patient as an individual, as every patient with the same diagnosis has a different story and set of circumstances. Dr. Nichols enjoys theater and loves to travel. In addition to visiting 25 different states and over 15 different countries, Dr. Nichols has worked in various settings including community clinics, private practice, jails and prisons.
