Shane Rau, MD, PhD, DFAPA, Vice President and Medical Director of Community Care, completed the MD/PhD program at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and has extensive experience in clinical research and medical leadership. Dr. Rau served as Clinical Director of the North Carolina Psychiatric Research Center, Associate Medical Director of the UNC STEP Community Clinic, Director of Medical Education of UNC’s Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health, and Associate Medical Director of a private inpatient psychiatric facility in Williamsburg, VA. In addition to providing outpatient psychiatric services, Dr. Rau oversees associate medical directors and clinician teams. Providing strategic planning for community care services, Dr. Rau aims to continually improve clinical quality using population health and value-based care principles.
