Piedmont Community Health Plan (PCHP) has partnered with Array AtHome, an online behavioral health service, to bring care to PCHP members in Virginia and other states. This partnership ensures members in need of behavioral and mental health treatment have access to timely, quality care.

Array Behavioral Care Now In-Network with Piedmont Community Health Plan
According to the 2021 State of Mental Health in America Report, Mental Health America screened and provided immediate resources to over a million people from January to September 2020 through the MHA Online Screening Program. The report showed how those looking for help with anxiety and depression has skyrocketed, with a 93 percent increase in anxiety screens over the 2019 total and a 62 percent increase over the 2019 total number of depression screens. The same report shows that the rate of anxiety peaked in September 2020, with over 80% of people who took an anxiety screen resulted with moderate to severe symptoms. Similarly, since the beginning of the pandemic, 80% of people who took a depression screen consistently resulted with moderate to severe depression symptoms.1
Telebehavioral health helps payers support their members during the pandemic and prepare for post-pandemic. This method of care also allows payers to meet the needs of their members who may experience the predicted future wave of worsening mental health problems. Through Array, PCHP members can fit sessions into busy days, reduce the chances of infection, cut out any travel time and expense, skip the waiting room, and connect to a large network of clinicians to receive the high-quality care they deserve. An Array survey showed that 96% of their members prefer online to in-person care and 98% of members felt more engaged in their care.
“We’ve recognized the existing and rising need of behavioral health services and could not be more thrilled to offer additional options to our members,” explained Barb Schlesinger Nash, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Director of Client/Provider Relations at Piedmont Community Health Plan. “Through our partnership with Array, more Virginia residents will have the opportunity to access a mental health professional when they most need it.”
