The leading telepsychiatry service provider expands its geographical footprint in Illinois by offering Array AtHome telepsychiatry to more than 9 million people across the state.
Mount Laurel, NJ – September 20, 2021 — Array Behavioral Care, the largest telepsychiatry practice in the country and a thought leader in modern behavioral care, announced today its new partnership with BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois (BCBS IL) to provide convenient online psychiatry and therapy services to BCBS Illinois members. Effective August 24, 2021, Array is a covered benefit for more than 9.3 million lives in Illinois through its relationships with healthcare payers. In addition to being in network BCBS IL, Array is an existing partner to 35 community clinics and two hospitals across Illinois.
Telebehavioral health has emerged as a modality of care delivery that payers have used to fill the gap between community needs and industry constraints. The increased demand for behavioral care services coupled with provider shortages has made it difficult for payers to meet the needs of their members. Through Array, BCBS IL members have access to a large network of licensed professional therapists and psychiatry clinicians to receive high-quality care.
Array Behavioral Care Extends Outreach in Illinois with BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois Partnership
With greater and more convenient access to care, BCBS IL is among many payers taking steps to expand coverage for telebehavioral services for their members during the pandemic and beyond the COVID-19 crisis. In addition to the partnership with BlueCross Blue Shield Illinois, Array Behavioral Care is in-network with the following health plans in Illinois: Aetna, Cigna, Cigna Medicare Advantage and Optum Healthcare.
“Illinois has been heavily impacted by the nation’s behavioral health workforce shortage. Currently, over 4.8 million Illinois residents reside in a designated Mental Health Professional Shortage Area. Through our partnership with BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois and several other health plans, we aim to provide specialized mental health support with our large and diverse network of clinicians,” said Justine Mitchell, Senior Vice President of Array AtHome. “What every payer knows about mental health is that it’s not enough to just have availability, patients also need to connect with clinicians who they can determine as the right fit for them.”
As the largest telepsychiatry service provider in the country, Array’s services are a covered benefit for more than 87 million individuals nationwide. Array’s AtHome care makes it easy for patients to connect with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, counselors, or therapists from wherever is convenient for them. Clinicians are matched to patients based on their needs and can provide psychiatric assessments, talk therapy, and medication management. Payers using Array experience greater member satisfaction, better outcomes, and decreased care costs all due to greater patient access to the right clinician for the best possible treatment. Array regularly collaborates with its payer partners, patient care teams and providers to deliver coordinated care to meet a patient’s healthcare goals.
