Psychiatric Assessments

If you have a difficult or lengthy history of mental illness or need a diagnosis for legal reasons, we can help. Our psychiatry clinicians offer assessments that are medical in nature and cover your physical, behavioral, and cognitive histories. Based on the assessments, your psychiatry clinician can make an initial diagnosis (if appropriate) and prescribe medications or other therapies to treat the condition.

Medication Management

Medication regimens take time and thoughtful consideration. Finding the right dosage, time of day, and type of medication can mean meeting with a psychiatric prescriber regularly for months. Skip the frustrating commute and waiting room by having your med management sessions online from the comfort of home or another private setting.

Types of Clinicians

Choosing the right clinician for you is important for the best possible treatment

Psychiatrists:

Psychiatrists (MDs, DOs) are medical practitioners specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness. Array employs board certified psychiatrists to provide diagnosis of underlying medical conditions and medication management to patients in acute crisis or receiving ongoing, outpatient medication management. Array psychiatrists are trained to help individuals experiencing long-term feelings of sadness, hopelessness, substance use disorders, or other problems that may be interfering with everyday life.

Nurse Practitioners:

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) are advanced registered nurses with specialized education and training in providing health promotion and maintenance through the diagnosis and treatment of acute illness and chronic conditions. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners can prescribe medication in most states, often under the supervision of a psychiatrist with whom they have a collaborative agreement. Array employs board certified PMHNPs who have at least 2 years of special training focused on psychiatry. Array PMHNPs are trained to evaluate and treat individuals with an array of needs, including serious mental illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorder, and major depression through medication management.

Licensed Therapists and Counselors:

Therapists and Counselors (LCSWs, LPCs, LMFTs) are licensed mental health service professionals, many of whom hold a master's degree, trained to work with individuals, families, and groups in treating mental, behavioral, and emotional problems and disorders. Array employs licensed therapists and counselors to practice psychotherapy and other therapeutic techniques. While therapists and counselors do not prescribe medication to individuals, and most do not offer formal diagnoses, Array therapists are trained to help patients cope with behavioral health issues and change behavior patterns that may be harmful or preventing you from living your healthiest life.
